Shaun Samson

Shaun Samson is a british menswear designer who launched his label in 2011 and was born in California. Samson has had a lot of experience in education/studying. First he received AA in Fashion Design in Los Angeles.  Then continued studying for Manufacturing and Product Development under scholarship at FIDM and back to design education at Central St. Martins, earning a BA and MA degree in Fashion Menswear.

Samson managed to work on four collections for Jeremy Scott throughout his degree. He is now part of the NEWGEN showing in London during London Collections: Men.

My favourite collection from Shaun Samson is.. SS14

Samson shows shades of grey, black, white and a pinch of pink. His name signatured on boxer shorts sewn onto a pair of joggers is my favourite design. For me, designing orginal garments and being orginal is what is best to show your own signature. Samsons target market should be aimed to outgoing men/guys who love wearing confortable clothes and love to travel. His SS14 designs remind me of someone who is about to go on holiday and get the most compliments. These garments can be worn for morning, day and evening wear- I love this part of his designs because it is important to think about when you could like your customers to wear your garments, and Samson has made the right choice for exampe by styling the peach pink shirt worn open in the day with shorts, and can be closed in for evening wear. Samson’s website has some amazing features which I will consider to look at for inspiration for my online portfolio. His home page has subtitles of his collection seasons and contact/email. In the middle is a slideshow of his garments. The thing I love about this website is that you could purchase Samson’s runway garments at reasonable prices/sales.
